SPOFR Announces Newport Station Lieutenant

South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue Fire Chief Shane Stocking announced, “Donald McCloud has accepted the position of Newport Station 11 Lieutenant! There is no question of Donald’s commitment to SPOFR, his leadership, his fathership to many, and his wealth of knowledge.”

Lieutenant McCloud has been with SPOFR for 7 years and is a Firefighter/EMT. Donald has been doing VOD (Volunteer on Duty) shifts for the past 3 years. Before joining SPOFR, he was an electrician.

Donald has been married for 34 years and has 3 children and 7 grandchildren. They love to dirt bike and go to the lake together in the summer. Donald said, “I spend as much time as possible with the grandkids.”

Chief Stocking said,” McCloud has been a tremendous asset to the community and fellow SPOFR members alike. Although Newport Station 11 is full-time career staffed, there is still an active and growing volunteer and support base that only adds to our capabilities. We couldn’t think of an individual more capable and respected to organize them than Lt. McCLoud.”
