South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue answered a 911 call on August 18th for a Fire-Smoke Only call at E Frideger Rd and N Jefferson Rd in NW Elk.at 5:17 PM.
Pend Oreille Fire District 4 and 5 responded to assist South Pend Oreille Fire Rescue, along with Spokane 4 Fire District, DNR, and the Pend Oreille County Sheriff.
Chief Brad Martin focused on structure protection and spot fires on Saturday and Sunday along with supplying volunteers, engines, brush trucks and tenders for the Oregon Rd Fire. Pictures attached show an area near Oregon Rd and Frideger Rd.
One of our active South Pend Oreille Fire Rescue firefighters lost their house to the Oregon Road fire. Donations can be made to GoFundMe for Klint Dodd organized by Jennifer Hamel.
