South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue continues the volunteer appreciation program called SPOFR Volunteer Spotlight. This is a way to recognize the volunteers when you see them in the community grocery store or at any local activities.
November 2022 Volunteer Spotlight
Tasha Dean, EMT, Camden Station
Our first volunteer to recognize is Tashia Dean a wife, mother, and volunteer EMT. Tasha and her family have lived in Elk, Washington for the past five years. Tasha said “I love living in Elk. It’s just an amazing community.” She has three sons the oldest is a Senior this year. Her middle son is 15 years old and won the Newport Rough Stock Rodeo this year. Her youngest is 12 and has won two All-Around Cowboy titles. Tasha appreciates her husband being supportive of her being a volunteer EMT and looks forward to attending the Fire Academy to be a volunteer firefighter in the future. She has been with SPOFR since January. Tashia is also a Washington State Medical Technician and just graduated from the EVIP (Emergency Vehicle Incident Prevention Program) Rodeo training course as an ambulance driver. Prior to joining SPOFR she was with South Pierce Fire and Rescue for 5 years as volunteer firefighter and EMT. Chief Nokes said, “We appreciate our volunteers for their countless training hours that has enabled them to respond to our recent record number of 911 calls.”
