South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue Chief Brad Martin has named Jennifer Krusing as the new SPOFR Operations Captain. She started as a SPOFR volunteer in 2019 and volunteered until September 2023, when she was hired as a Full-Time Firefighter/EMT.
Jennifer previously worked for 20 years in the California Fire Service. She has her California State Fire Marshal’s Fire Officer Certificate and has completed Firefighter 1 and 2. She has also completed Incident Command courses and has been a driver/operator. She retired as a California Fire Captain in the Palo Alto Fire Department before coming to Washington State.
In addition, Jennifer is also an American Heart Association certified CPR instructor.
Jennifer said, “I consider it a blessing to love going to work. There has never been a day in my career when I thought I didn’t want to be at work. Now being with SPOFR, knowing that I am here for my family, is amazing for me. I am really excited to be here and taking care of my neighbors.”
Jennifer and her wife have twin 5-year-old boys and a 6-year-old daughter.
