Deane Neusbaum was honored at this past weeks South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue breakfast as he retired from SPOFR after 11 Years as a volunteer EMT and Firefighter. He will stay involved as the SPOFR Sign Program Manager. This sign program makes custom address signs that are very visible, saving precious minutes if firefighters or emergency medical services personnel need to locate your address. This program can be seen at the SPOFR.org website.

Deane was a school teacher before joining SPOFR. For 20 years, he taught K through 12 Music in Wyoming. After moving to Washington, he taught High School math for 12 years.

Chief Shane Stocking said Deane has been such an amazing member of this SPOFR family for many years, and his contributions and involvement in the community will not be forgotten. He is kind to all and never passes up an opportunity to help or be a friend to another. Although he is well deserving of retiring from running calls, we are so thankful he will remain part of this family and continue the invaluable task of making high-visibility address signs.
