Recent rains allow for easing of some burn restrictions
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in cooperation with partner agencies, is easing some burn restrictions on DNR-protected lands in eastern Washington. Following recent rains, burn restrictions will be eased in some areas.
DNR is still asking the public to avoid lighting outdoor fires when possible.
Changes to burn restrictions in the Northeast Region effective Friday, April 30, 2021:
- Permit burns (written burn permits issued by DNR) will be allowed in the following Fire Danger Rating Areas: Foothills and Upper Basin.
- Pend Oreille County Fire District 8 is located in the Foothills area. Please note that rule burns (burning without a permit) are still banned.
