Chief Brad Martin and the Fire Commissioners of South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue are asking voters to consider increasing our regular fire levy rate previously voted on from $1.00 to $1.25 per $1,000 of assessed property value. This is called a Levy Lid Lift. The current fire levy rate has fallen to $.75 per $1,000 of assessed property value. FIREFIGHTER VOLUNTEERS: South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue needs to expand its membership to serve all stations. If you think you would like to serve your community as a Volunteer Firefighter, we welcome you to join us. Please click on the link above to access the online Volunteer Firefighter Application information and forms, call our office at 509-447-5305, or stop by the Diamond Lake Station between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday to learn more about the time commitment, physical skills, and training needed to become a South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue Volunteer Firefighter.
FIREFIGHTER ONLINE TRAINING: The South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue Interactive Academy site is used to deliver monthly training and any other specialty classes. COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS: South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue also welcomes community volunteers to serve in non-operational support positions. Auxiliary and Public Education volunteers provide support through fundraising events, canteen services, and the development of life safety education workshops.
